Manan Parikh is a Solar Analyst for GTM Research covering global downstream markets with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to GTM, his work has been extensively research based, centering upon alternative fuels infrastructure development and Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS) policy models for the Schatz Energy Research Center and UC Berkeley in Northern California. In California, he was also an ambassador to start-up teams within the Clean Tech Open accelerator as well as a consultant to DOE SunShot Catalyst Award winner, PVComplete. In Washington, DC he worked on biomass policy at the American Council On Renewable Energy. He is an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as the DC-based Clean Energy Leadership Institute in its inaugural class.

Ms. Navarro joined the firm in 2010 and is the Director of the Infrastructure and Public Utilities Practice Group. She has advised many companies along the different activities of the energy sector using conventional and non-conventional sources, as well as natural gas. Among others, Claudia has wide experience in contract’s structuring, including but not limited to, BOOMT, PPAs and connection agreements and all matters related to electricity retail and natural gas production.

She is an expert in regulation of the electric energy and natural gas services and she has been recognized as a distinguished attorney by various sectorial associations such as: ANDESCO, ACOLGEN, ASOCODIS, and ANDI. She has actively participated in the process of consolidation and recognition of the Infrastructure, Energy and Natural Gas practice, accomplishing to position it in national and foreign market.

Ms. Navarro holds postgraduate degrees in Public Management from Los Andes University and Contractual Law from Externado University. Moreover, she holds a Master’s Degree in Constitutional Law from the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales of Madrid and undertook her PhD studies in the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.

Currently, Ms. Navarro teaches the course of “Infrastructure: regulation and finance” of the faculty of Law of Los Andes University and “Public, construction and concession agreements typology, infrastructure and public utilities” of Rosario University.

Actualmente, lidera el equipo comercial de GreenYellow con alcance nacional y regional, ofreciendo a los sectores productivos estrategias de ahorros de energía, monitoreo y control de consumos, y generación propia con plantas solares.

Sergio joined IPD Latin America in 2012. His expertise as a Consultant has focused on political, social and regulatory developments within Colombia, and how they affect the country’s energy industry, including the renewables and oil and gas sectors. He has extensive regional expertise in community issues, regulatory developments and security. As a member of IPD’s renewable energy team, Sergio has focused on monitoring regulatory developments and identifying emerging opportunities. Prior to joining IPD, Sergio worked in the Bogota-based offices of Control Risks as a political and security analyst and researcher. During his three years with the company, he was responsible for providing in-depth analysis of Andean Region politics and security, as well as regional analysis in Colombia for the power, mining, infrastructure, oil, and gas industries. Sergio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. He also holds a Master of Arts in Global Studies from the Universities of Wroclaw (Poland) and Leipzig (Germany).

For the last two years we have hosted alongside the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) a seminar on Developing Renewable Energy in Latin America in which the Brazilian Minister of Climate Change attended with other keynote speakers.

Stephen’s recent transactions in Latin America include the bid for a significant onshore wind portfolio in Brazil by a Chinese state-owned enterprise, the ongoing bid for a wind and solar portfolio, and an innovative green bond / hybrid loan note financing of solar assets in Colombia and Brazil.

Sérgio Monaro is the Head of Infrastructure Finance LATAM for Deutsche Bank. He has over 20 years of experience as a project financier in the US, Spain and Latin America including projects in the Power, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure sectors as arranger and/or advisor. Particularly in Power, Mr. Monaro has structured a number of high profile projects in the renewable space such as wind farms, solar, biomass and hydro power plants.

Before Deutsche Bank, Sergio was the Executive Director of Project Finance for AES Corp, was responsible for the Project Finance divisions at HSBC and Citi in Brazil and Director of Project Finance LATAM for BBVA in Madrid. He holds a MBA degree from Cass and London Business School (London, UK) and a Bachelor degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (São Paulo, Brazil).
